Nicola Stopps is CEO of Simply Sustainable. Nicola has 20 years’ experience in sustainability and CSR having worked for some of the largest companies in the world.
Since founding Simply Sustainable in 2010, Nicola has worked with a number of international and national organisations on developing their CSR and sustainability programmes.
Previous roles include; Head of Corporate Responsibility at T-Mobile, Director of Sustainability and Environment at Travelodge Hotels, as well as working for DHL and the BBC. Nicola holds a Geography degree from University of Exeter and received her Master’s in Environmental Impact Assessment and Auditing from the University of East Anglia in 1999.
Nicola has a proven capability to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget. She has gained a reputation of someone who ‘gets the job done’ and has experience working in a wide range of sectors. With firm foundations in environmental management and experience in successfully implementing sustainability strategies, Nicola is nationally recognised as a leader in the field of corporate sustainability and sits on the CBI Energy and Climate Change Committee.

Alasdair Marks is Director of Simply Sustainable. Alasdair joined the team in 2017 bringing more than 10 years of leadership roles and extensive corporate sustainability knowledge and expertise.
Alasdair leads projects for our clients across our service areas including strategy development, materiality assessment, integration planning, reporting and ESG. He is passionate about helping companies to pursue sustainability strategies that underpin commercial goals and enhance future success.
Prior to joining Simply Sustainable, Alasdair worked at the responsible business charity and membership organisation Business in the Community where he worked with a cross-section of leading businesses to develop and deliver integrated business strategies with responsibility at their heart.
Alasdair, who has a Masters degree in Corporate Responsibility from London Metropolitan University, has a proven track record of supporting companies to adopt ambitious yet practical approaches to sustainability that drive progress, performance and impact.

Katherine is a Senior Consultant at Simply Sustainable. Katherine joined the team in September 2020 bringing over 20 years’ experience working in the sustainability and environmental management profession.
Katherine joined us from Heathrow, where she worked in various sustainability and environmental management roles. Most recently, she led the development and implementation of their ambitious sustainability strategy, Heathrow 2.0. This involved working closely with all levels of the organisation to help them understand the business value of sustainability and engaging colleagues and teams to inspire them to deliver a culture change in sustainability. Highlights included being part of the team to win Edie’s Sustainable Business of the Year award in 2019.
Prior to working at Heathrow, Katherine worked in both the consultancy and charitable sectors providing practical advice on environmental strategy and management practices to a range of sectors and businesses, including: large multinationals, government departments, and SMEs.
Katherine, who is a Chartered Environmentalist, has expertise across a wide range of sustainability areas, including: sustainability strategy development, ESG, sustainability integration, sustainability reporting and benchmarking, engagement and behaviour change, developing and implementing management systems, and stakeholder engagement.

Carlota joined Simply Sustainable following the completion of her degree. She achieved First Class Honours in Geography from Oxford University, specialising in human geography. Her dissertation explored narratives of community engagement and means of ‘participation’ in urban redevelopments, highlighting the lack of any meaningful discourse. In addition to these academic qualifications, Carlota has a range of corporate and charity experience from placements at the CocaCola Company, Nantik Lum, Citi and Social Development Direct.
Carlota has experience across a wide range of sustainability areas including materiality, stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting (GRI, TCFD, UNCG, SASB), strategy development and ESG ratings. Clients she has worked with include easyJet, Direct Line Group, Investec Bank, Costa Coffee, Manchester Airports Group, Stansted Airport, Volkswagen UK Group, Central England Co-operative and The Berkeley Group. She is a member of IEMA and ICRS.

Rupert has worked in the sustainability industry for over 6 years, managing global clients across several compliance and voluntary services. Among the companies he has worked for is a boutique and carbon sustainability consultancy, and multinational commercial real estate services company Cushman & Wakefield.
Rupert’s areas of expertise encompass a wide range of sustainability services, among which: Sustainability Benchmarking and Reporting (GRESB, CDP, UNPRI, GHG Protocol); Responsible Property Investment; Environment and Social Governance Strategies; Regulatory Compliance and Risk Mitigation (CRC, GHG, ESOS/EED, MEES); Carbon, Energy and Sustainability Data Measurement, Reporting and Assurance; Stakeholder Communications and Engagement; Energy and Sustainability Data Systems; Health and Wellbeing.

Emma is passionate about the power of communication and story to inspire and create positive, authentic change. Operating across the communications spectrum from strategy creation to, sustainability report writing, programme development and deployment, Emma has worked with a wide range of organisations, from small charities to multinationals.
With a background in marketing and PR, Emma has more than 20 years experience in the profession, nine of which at BT Group where she created and oversaw the delivery of the global sustainability communication strategy. Emma is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS) and the RSA. She is also an Accredited Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
With over 15 years of management system experience spanning across the public and private sector, Sam has been supporting Simply Sustainable clients to implement or improve their systems since 2017.
As a principle UK expert for quality management systems, and as a lead auditor for ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018, Sam takes a practical and business-focused approach to help organisations build quality, sustainability and safety into their operations to meet the requirements of standards for quality, environment and health and safety.
She uses her experience of a breadth of industries to work collaboratively with clients to support the development of lasting improvements in their performance to help maximise opportunities for long-term growth.

Michelle Liddle is Executive Assistant to CEO of Simply Sustainable
Michelle joined the Simply Sustainable team in February 2017 and has 6 years experience as an Executive Assistant. Michelle has previously provided executive support to individuals & businesses in journalism, marketing, health & wellbeing and retail. She offers a full range of administrative & HR support services to aid more efficient & focused working for the whole Simply Sustainable team.
Michelle has a 2:1 in Business Studies from London Guildhall University. Prior to joining Simply Sustainable, Michelle gained extensive commercial, business & managerial experience during her career as a Mechandiser. She spent over 13 years working in Head Office for leading high street retailers such as John Lewis, Debenhams, BHS & Habitat.
